Form One Heritage Service
Tradition and innovation are two core values of St. Paul’s College; and the recent Form One Heritage Service fully embodied both.

The service, held last Friday, was conducted at St. Paul’s Church in Glenealy, Central. Our College has intimate historical links with St. Paul’s Church, since our old school blocks used to stand adjacent to it on the “Bishop’s Hill”.

Presiding over the heritage service this year was the Reverend Robert Martin, formerly our College Chaplain and currently Priest-in-charge of Emmanuel Church in Pokfulam. The Principal Mr. Dennis Yuen delivered the homily, which opened with a look back into the history and tradition of the College, followed by instruction on the Christian principles the College has consistently upheld over the past 165 years.

Tradition aside, newly added to the order of service this year were the Eucharist and individual blessings by the priest. For the first time ever, the service was consummated with Christian teachers and students partaking of the Holy Communion and Father Robert offering blessings to students with the laying of hands upon them one by one.

With the new school year already in full swing, we pray that all of our students, both new and returning, may build on the foundation laid by our predecessors and strive to break new ground both for themselves and for the College.
