World Scout Jamboree unlocking a new world for our scouts

From 21 July to 2 August 2019, scouts and venture scouts of the 10th Hong Kong Group, accompanied by scout leaders including Mr. Robert Ho, Mrs. Apple Ho, Mr. Andy Chau and Ms. Fanny Lee, participated in the 24th World Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, West Virginia, USA.

The Hong Kong contingent attending the Jamboree included 29 scouts from the 10th Hong Kong Group of our College and 300 other scouts and leaders from other groups. The theme for the 24th World Jamboree was ‘Unlock a New World’. During the 12-day camping event, our scouts fully embraced the challenges of ‘unlocking’ and exploring a whole new world of experiences for themselves through engaging in various adventurous activities, for example, zip-lining, mountain biking, scuba diving and shooting sports while taking time to make new friends with scouts from more than 167 countries around the world.

Dressed in traditional Chinese costumes, they also performed a flag dance to the delight of a huge audience of more than 45,000 scouts, which was, without a doubt, one of the many memorable experiences for our scout group at the Jamboree.
