STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (SEN)
The Team includes the SEN coordinator, a senior student counselor, three school social workers, two Educational Psychologists, a counselling psychologist, an administrative assistant, and teachers with special educational trainings.
Aims of the SEN Team:
3-tier Support Model
Among students with the same type of learning difficulty, their needs and the degree of support required may differ from one to another. The team adopts a 3-tier support model to provide appropriate support for students according to their diverse needs. These include classroom adjustments (e.g. seating arrangements, peer support, class visits), individual and counseling sessions, speech therapy service, social skills support groups, subject-based support, special examination adjustments (SEA), and individual education plans. It is expected that through various supportive measures, the school can effectively cater to the learning diversity of our students.
Moreover, with the help of the school educational psychologists (Mr. Rickie Hung and Dr. Bernard Wong), counselling psychologist (Dr. Phoebus Tsui), senior student counselors (Ms. Chloe Lam), administrative assistant (Ms. Maggie Law) and social workers (Mr. Leo Leung, Mr. Jacky Suen and Mr. Kieran Fong), the team is able to provide one-to-one follow-ups for students with special educational needs. Besides, the team values collaboration with the Guidance Team, the Discipline Team, the Careers Guidance Team, and all form and subject teachers to provide comprehensive support for our students.
